The children’s first day in their new centre was an eventful one, involving children locking themselves in a classroom and their teachers out of it, two children locking themselves in a bathroom, and one teacher setting off the fire alarm, thinking it to be a very fancy school bell! Obviously it is going to take us some time to tweak things and to get used to our new setting, after being cooped up in the tiny pilot project building for nearly 2 years.
However, the children love their new building, as do their families, and one of the best things about being here these last few weeks has been to see the smiling faces of the parents as they drop off and pick up their children from the centre. They are evidently quite pleased that someone was bothered enough about their children to build this beautiful centre for them!
